As a parent or guardian, you have a special role to play in nurturing the faith of your children.
To this end, the Religious Education Program will provide materials to help and guide you as you invite your children to grow closer to Christ on their journey of faith.
We provide a structured curriculum in the areas of the Creed – what we believe, the Sacraments - celebrating what we believe, the Commandments –living what we believe, Prayer – responding to what we believe and Scripture - the foundation of our Catholic faith.
At each grade level, students are responsible for learning specific material as part of their continuing course of study. With the exception of 1st grade, we ask each child to memorize only one additional prayer or belief per year:
Grade 1: the Sign of the Cross, the Lord’s Prayer, the Hail Mary, and the Doxology (the Glory Be)
Grade 2: the Act of Contrition
Grade 3: The Apostle’s Creed – students are introduced to the Nicene Creed as well
Grade 4: the Ten Commandments
Grade 5: the Mass, students continue learning the Nicene Creed
Grade 6: a working knowledge of the Bible including how to look up passages
Grade 7: the Seven Sacraments
Grade 8: Duties of a Catholic Christian
To access Google Classroom:
Go to google.com
Click in the upper right corner at the circled letter
Click add another account
Enter the username we sent you for your family: (firstinitialofeachchildlastname@olofatimareled.com) 2+ children
(childlastname@olofatimareled.com) 1 child
Then enter the password we sent for your family: (created by Faith Formation)
Now go to the 9 dots in the right corner and click.
Scroll to the bottom for the classroom icon
Click on classroom icon and you choose your child's class. Make sure you are still in the right account as google often defaults back to your other accounts. Just click back on the circles letter and choose the olofatimareled account.
